RESTING
He’s resting now;
His hive is buzzing,
At season’s end,
They call to me;
Filled with wonder,
I go to them;
Do they know his battle?
Will it be long or short?
And they dance for me;
Memories pour in,
As if to share with them,
Moments from our past,
Many blurry fragments;
His bee rests on edge,
Now a memory crystal clear;
And The Beeman rests;
His battle lost.

Stepping away,
From the bustle of life,
To the place,
That's in between.
From here I look,
At season's end,
While things die away.
Then winter comes,
Still, I'm curious....
What's ahead,
Are others coming to sleep?
So here I'll stay,
Defending those in my keep,
Waiting 'til Spring.
And I wonder…
Will life be buzzing then?
Ann explains that “Peek-a-Bee” reminds us that we sometimes need to step away from life to handle difficult situations.
Hide and Seek" is a print inspired by Ann’s photograph “Peek-a-bee". The photograph focuses on the aged side of the hive and a little bee that popped up. Meg stated, "The large knot in the wood above the crack where the bee appeared felt like a fingerprint. I felt my dad making a
